Our Facilities

Since opening in 2014, Yanchep Beach Primary School has been designed with innovation and purpose. Our campus features spacious, light-filled learning environments furnished with modern, functional resources to support dynamic teaching and learning. Sustainability is at the heart of our design, with energy-efficient features integrated throughout our well-planned school grounds.
As our community has grown, so too have our facilities. We’ve expanded with additional classrooms, a vibrant chicken coop, an outdoor learning space, and many other enhancements that enrich student experiences. Explore below to discover more about the exceptional facilities that make YBPS a unique and inspiring place to learn.

Nature Playground
Our Nature Playground is designed to be a calming, natural space where Kindy and Pre-Primary students can play, explore, and connect with the environment. This setting promotes emotional well-being by reducing stress and encouraging mindfulness through sensory experiences.
It also supports social development, as children learn to collaborate and build friendships in a relaxed, outdoor environment. By combining play with nature, we create opportunities for physical activity, creativity, and a sense of belonging—all essential for healthy growth and happiness.

Sports Oval
Our sports oval, built to the same dimensions as the iconic MCG, provides students with an exceptional space for physical activity and outdoor learning. This expansive area encourages movement, teamwork, and fitness, supporting both physical health and mental well-being. By offering opportunities for structured sports and free play, the oval plays a vital role in fostering resilience, confidence, and a lifelong love of active living within our school community.

School Parking
Parking is available to visitors on all three streets bordering our school. A large carpark is situated beside the school oval. The staff carpark is situated at the front of the school and is shared with the Yanchep Beach Dental Treatment Clinic, delivery services and other contractors. The City of Wanneroo has published a School Parking booklet which provides information about safety around schools.

All-Weather Courts
Our enclosed synthetic-surface courts provide a safe and durable environment for year-round physical activity. Marked for multiple sports—including tennis, basketball, and netball—these courts offer students opportunities to develop skills, teamwork, and a love of active living in all weather conditions.

Library
Our library is a bright, welcoming sanctuary designed to inspire a love of reading and learning. It offers a peaceful environment where students can slow down, reflect, and immerse themselves in books. Each class visits the library weekly to borrow and explore, and students are also welcome to borrow and return books before and after school. This calm, engaging space supports both academic growth and emotional well-being, making it a cherished part of our school community.

Undercover Area
Our undercover area is more than a sheltered space—it’s the heart of our school gatherings. Designed to bring people together, it hosts assemblies, incursions, celebrations, and community events in a safe and welcoming environment. Equipped with an LED video wall and PA system, this versatile venue supports multimedia presentations and interactive experiences, making it an ideal space for fostering engagement and strengthening our school community.

Miracle Playground
Our Miracle Playground is more than a place for fun—it’s a space where social skills flourish. Designed for students from Year 1 to Year 6, it encourages collaboration, communication, and teamwork through active and imaginative play. By engaging in shared games and creative activities, children learn to build friendships, resolve conflicts, and develop empathy—all while enjoying a vibrant, playful environment that strengthens their sense of belonging.

Bilya Playground
Our Bilya Playground is a dedicated nature play space designed for our older students in Years 1 to 6. It offers a safe and engaging environment where children can explore, climb, and connect with the outdoors during lunch and recess. This natural setting encourages creativity, problem-solving, and physical activity, while fostering a sense of adventure and well-being.

Our Garden
Our garden is a thriving space that reflects the heart of our school community. In addition to an insect house, fruit trees, and compost bins, it features several garden beds filled with seasonal fruits and vegetables. These are lovingly maintained by our dedicated parent volunteers, whose time and care make this space flourish.
Local businesses regularly donate seedlings and gardening equipment, while students contribute by creating compost used as natural fertiliser. The mature produce is harvested for classroom activities and shared back with the community, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and connection. Beyond its practical benefits, the garden serves as a calm sanctuary aligned with our whole-school health and well-being program—a place where learning, nature, and community come together.

Chicken Coop
At Yanchep Beach Primary School, our chicken project brings learning to life. Caring for chickens offers students an authentic, hands-on experience that extends beyond the classroom. From feeding and cleaning to observing behaviors, children develop practical skills while learning about sustainability, responsibility, and empathy for living creatures.

Music Room
Music at YBPS is offered to all students from Kindy to Year 6 through a practical, hands on approach. In the classroom, students follow a skill-based program that develops music literacy through playing the ukulele, xylophone and a range of percussion instruments. Choir is open to all students from Year 3, working towards a range of performances both within the school and the wider community.
Students in year 5 and 6 may also be invited to participate in the instrumental program provided by IMSS (Instrumental Music School Services) where they may learn the flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone or acoustic guitar.

Art Room
The Yanchep Beach Primary School Visual Art program covers a diverse range of activities aimed at building a greater understanding of art concepts through creative exploration of historical and contemporary artwork of numerous artists. Students are encouraged to use this as an inspiration in the growth of their own artistic abilities.
Artwork is regularly displayed within the school and the art is recognized as an important part of each student’s learning journey.

Wellbeing Hub
In our quiet library area, we have transformed a quiet space into our Wellbeing Hub. This is a space where students can be referred to during the day where they need some extra time and space away from the class to help them get back to being Ready to Learn.

Outdoor Classroom
Our Outdoor Classroom offers students a refreshing opportunity to learn in a natural, open-air setting. This space is designed to promote well-being by reducing stress, encouraging mindfulness, and fostering a sense of calm away from traditional indoor environments.
By combining learning with nature, we create an environment that supports emotional health, creativity, and engagement—helping students feel balanced and connected as they grow.
