ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF OUR SCHOOL BOARD
The functions of boards are prescribed by the School Education Act 1999 and the School Education Regulations 2000 as follows:
1) Take part in: establishing and reviewing from time to time, the school’s objectives, priorities and general policy directions;
2) planning financial arrangements necessary to fund those objectives, priorities and directions;
3) evaluating the school’s performance in achieving those objectives, priorities and directions;
4) formulating codes of conduct for students at the school;
5) take part in the selection of, but not the appointment of, the school principal or any other member of the teaching staff if prior approval is given by the Regional Executive Director.

Introducing our school board
My name is Hendrik and I have been a resident of Yanchep for over 11 years with 3 children at YBPS.
I'm an IT Consultant with 14 years experience in Document and Records management, and particularly passionate about community safety and ensuring children have the best chance at success in a safe and inclusive environment. I'm excited to contribute to our community's future as a board member at YBPS
My name is Amy Braddon. I'm delighted to be nominated as the school board chair for 2025. I am a long term local resident of Yanchep and proud parent to two YBPS students.
I am a current PhD student studying sleep in early childhood develop and work as a Sessional Lecturer at Curtin University.
